Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are AMAZING! They are hardworking, dedicated, and excited to try new things. They love working at different areas in the classroom.

When given choices for seating, they always choose the "special chairs" first.

They are active and enjoy moving to different areas with different seating options during the day. The wobble stools are the most popular because they allow movement in a fun way.

My goal is to make learning an enjoyable experience and to help every child reach their full learning potential.

My Project

Students are able to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them using flexible seating. They have independent work station times when they are able to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently they can choose between lawn chairs, wobble stools, buckets and crates. The wobble stools are the top choice. During math I pull small groups on the carpet so the lap desks will allow students to have a stable writing surface as they independently work.

Giving students choice is an essential component in motivating them.

I have noticed my students are more responsible and on task when they are given a choice in their seating. They are more productive than when they are just sitting at their desk.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional options for seating choices. The wobble stools allow students to move without disrupting others. It prevents students from rocking back in their chairs which can be dangerous. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that learn better while they move.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' behavior and their work. I am excited to offer them even more options.
