Test drive a Tesla at the Red Lion Hotel

REDDING, Calif. — You can now test drive a Tesla in Redding thanks to a partnership between the company and the Red Lion Hotel.

KRCR spoke to Bobby Patel, a manager at the Red Lion Hotel, and he said the hotel is serving as a host parking lot for the Teslas for when anyone wants to give them a test drive.

The way he said it works is:

• you can either scan the QR code on the car
• or book an appointment to test drive on the Tesla website

Patel said you will be required to put in all your information including your driver's license information.

Once you are confirmed, for those near Redding, he said they can simply go to the hotel, scan the QR code on the car they reserved, and then hit the road.

"To test drive, they have hand sanitizers, gloves, and masks already inside the cars," Patel said. "Someone does come by and maintain them, and provide the cleaning and everything, so it's a great opportunity."

He said the Red Lion Hotel also has three electronic car charging stations, two specifically for Teslas and one with an adapter.

"You don't have to go all the way to the Bay Area or Sacramento to do a test drive, it's very easy and safe," he said.

Patel said they are expecting more Tesla models to be coming to the Red Lion Hotel as an option to test drive later this month.
