Grand Blanc (Mich.) 2019 three-star cornerback Kortez Toles was in Ann Arbor on Sept. 22 to visit Michigan for its game against Nebraska.

His experience was phenomenal.

“The coaches were very honest and open, making me feel like family,” Toles said. “The fans are super loud. I’ll definitely be back soon.”

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound defensive back has offers to Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Cornell and Morgan State. Michigan defensive line coach Greg Mattison and Director of Recruiting Matt Dudek called him a “scholarship player” and “Big 10 player” during his recent visit.

Toles hopes Michigan is the next school to offer him.

“They said if they don’t (offer) soon, it’ll come later,” he added. “I think so, but I’m not 100 percent sure.”

For a major of his visit, Toles spent time talking with Tony Jones, a former Grand Blanc football player and current recruiting operations coordinator at Michigan.

“He introduced me to all the coaches and even Devin Gardner and Tarik Black,” Toles said. “I’ve met him before but now he coaches at Michigan, so we were just catching up. He was seeing if I was ready to play ball at the next level.

“He said they may be out to some more of my games.”

Before leaving Ann Arbor, the coaching staff made it a priority to invite Toles back for another visit on Oct. 6. Due to scheduling issues, the cornerback believes he will get back to Michigan for its game against Wisconsin on Oct. 13.

If Michigan extended a scholarship offer, Toles said he would commit on the spot.

Toles is ranked No. 1,436 in the nation, No. 149 at cornerback and No. 35 in the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports Composite.
