RUSH TRANSCRIPT BLITZER Our ░░░░░░░░ contributor Cornell William brooks ░░░░░░░░ this morning the president ░░░░░░░░ this and I ll ░░░░░░░░ it on the screen ░░░░░░░░ issue of kneeling has ░░░░░░░░ to do with race ░░░░░░░░ is about respect for ░░░░░░░░ country flag and national ░░░░░░░░ NFL must respect this ░░░░░░░░ s your reaction your ░░░░░░░░ to that Cornell BROOKS ░░░░░░░░ it pains me to ░░░░░░░░ this that the president ░░░░░░░░ tweets and comments have ░░░░░░░░ to do with the ░░░░░░░░ and everything to do ░░░░░░░░ race When the president ░░░░░░░░ to Colin Kaepernick in ░░░░░░░░ as a son of ░░░░░░░░ b word it is ░░░░░░░░ code for the n ░░░░░░░░ across America and in ░░░░░░░░ Particularly when he does ░░░░░░░░ in the context of ░░░░░░░░ campaign rally for the ░░░░░░░░ nominee for the Senate ░░░░░░░░ when he manages to ░░░░░░░░ more moral outrage against ░░░░░░░░ NFL as opposed to ░░░░░░░░ This has everything to ░░░░░░░░ with race particularly when ░░░░░░░░ Kaepernick played ball in ░░░░░░░░ league that s 70 ░░░░░░░░ American Particularly when he ░░░░░░░░ protesting against the fact ░░░░░░░░ African Americans are three ░░░░░░░░ more likely to lose ░░░░░░░░ lives at the hands ░░░░░░░░ the police than their ░░░░░░░░ counterparts And where we ░░░░░░░░ 963 people lost their ░░░░░░░░ at the hands of ░░░░░░░░ police last year The ░░░░░░░░ of the matter is ░░░░░░░░ athletes these owners citizens ░░░░░░░░ the country are standing ░░░░░░░░ the legacy and lineage ░░░░░░░░ the American tradition of ░░░░░░░░ And so they honor ░░░░░░░░ clear about this they ░░░░░░░░ the values of the ░░░░░░░░ and the Constitution when ░░░░░░░░ protest police misconduct So ░░░░░░░░ the president to go ░░░░░░░░ to Alabama and engage ░░░░░░░░ race baiting is frankly ░░░░░░░░ BLITZER Why do you ░░░░░░░░ it s code for ░░░░░░░░ the n word BROOKS ░░░░░░░░ you refer to an ░░░░░░░░ American player in Alabama ░░░░░░░░ the son of the ░░░░░░░░ word you defame and ░░░░░░░░ his parentage and those ░░░░░░░░ him Many of us ░░░░░░░░ the country take exception ░░░░░░░░ that I would suggest ░░░░░░░░ if someone referred spoke ░░░░░░░░ the president s son ░░░░░░░░ youngest son as an ░░░░░░░░ O B I m ░░░░░░░░ the First Lady would ░░░░░░░░ exception to that And ░░░░░░░░ should take exception to ░░░░░░░░ I ve spoken to ░░░░░░░░ great many African American ░░░░░░░░ and women who find ░░░░░░░░ both misogynistic and racist ░░░░░░░░ both race baiting and ░░░░░░░░ baiting for gender baiting ░░░░░░░░ political purposes The president ░░░░░░░░ have spoke Ben police ░░░░░░░░ He could have spoken ░░░░░░░░ the constitutionally wrong headed ░░░░░░░░ wrong hearted policy of ░░░░░░░░ Department of Justice with ░░░░░░░░ to dissent decrees He ░░░░░░░░ have talked about issues ░░░░░░░░ He took this as ░░░░░░░░ occasion to again engage ░░░░░░░░ race baiting He didn ░░░░░░░░ take on the issue ░░░░░░░░ didn t take on ░░░░░░░░ Colin Kaepernick and so ░░░░░░░░ Americans across this country ░░░░░░░░ protesting against Again he ░░░░░░░░ in name calling and ░░░░░░░░ it for political purposes.
