Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance Court has given a two-week ultimatum to Vigilance department to produce the quick examination report in connection with the Pattoor land deal case.
When the Vigilance informed the court that it had begun a quick examination in August 2016 itself, the Vigilance court asked the department why it is delaying the filing of the case.
The court asked the investigation official to appear before the court to hand over the documents related to the case.
Meanwhile, CPM leader V S Achuthanandan submitted the documents, which the Vigilance said it does not have in its possession, to the court on Thursday.
VS had approached the court in December 2015 asking to conduct investigation by naming former chief minister Oommen Chandy as the first accused in the Pattoor land deal case. The petition had named Oommen Chandy, former chief secretary E K Bharat Bhushan and six others as accused. The petition also alleged that the chief minister and CM’s office had direct role in the land deal.
The allegation is that the then Chief Minister Oommen Chandy connived with the accused to encroach the poromboke land belonging to water authority in Pattoor to enable the construction of a flat.
