Technology for Our New Room

My students need 4 desktop computers to put in our new classroom that will help us keep up with this age of technology.

My Students

Have you ever tried to look something up on a computer that is so slow and old that you finally just have to give up? Our old dinosaur computers need to be replaced with computers that will give students the capability to stretch their imaginations and minds.

Our school is located in a rural area in East Texas.

We are a high poverty school and most of my students are on free and reduced lunches. Access to technology outside of school is very rare for most students. My students love learning and always want to get on the computer which is usually not working or too slow to run any of the programs that are available. Our school has had many budget cuts due to the economy and is unable to purchase expensive technology for our classrooms.

My Project

We are moving to a new room and would love to have new, updated computers. New computers would make it possible for my students to test on Accelerated Reader, STAR Test, use IStation for literacy help, improve their math skills on XtraMath and much more. Study Island is a great program that is available to our school to help improve math skills and prepare students for the STAR Test, but our old computers are too slow to run the program. These computers would help make all of these types of programs easily accessible to my students. We could use them to research information as well as to write stories and create all kinds of projects. My students can learn so much by using these computers.

Technology is such a great tool for learning and you can help provide these tools for my class.
