Travelling Gift Registry for one lucky couple who was just engaged or just married

The typical Wedding Registry, where the couple predetermined a list of items you may purchase as gifts, has always left me feeling empty. It feels so impersonal, impairs my creativity, robs me of joy, and removes my ‘warm, fuzzy feeling’ that so often accompanies me when buying a special something for a special someone.
I will admit the wedding registry list provides all the necessary items to run a household and to some degree reflects the decorating taste of the couple as they embark onto their shared housekeeping scenario–on paper. But, for me that registry ends up a mere guideline for making my personal gift selection.
What if you could participate in a wedding registry that hits the mark in handmade weddings? Wouldn’t that put the joy back in shopping for the happy couple?
Handmade Weddings are the trend. And, it’s a trend that keeps on keeping on. Last year, it was all over social media sites like Pinterest and Etsy; handmade items were found and put to work making a ‘Handmade Wedding” theme so much easier to experience. Today, on Etsy you can find a current Wedding Blog with Real Weddings, How-To’s and Products.
One thing to note: to make your wedding entirely handmade will take a lot of commitment and assistance from other crafters. That being said, the blog on Etsy has some wonderful ideas to get you started. Check out this How-to blog for a wedding garland guest book. It encourages you to get shower guests involved in the handmade process, making it very personal—something you will want to hang onto. If any of you Handmade Wedding groupies are going to be in Chattanooga, TN on Saturday, June 14, 2014, come check out our artisan/handmade/vintage wonder booth at the Summer Sunshine Heyday event at the Marriott Hotel, https://www.facebook.com/summersunshineheyday. Becca’s Green Craft Studio will be sharing booth space with Blessed BeeMelisa. Both of us are Etsy shop owners dwelling in Ellijay, Georgia. This year we plan to do something new to attract shoppers. Our booth’s ‘Handsmade & Wedding Vignette’ is in keeping with the Handmade Wedding trend seen all over social media since last wedding season. Within the vignette will be a vintage wedding dress, hat and gloves along with other nostalgic memorabilia and our Handmade Wedding Gift Bag full of hand selected gifts from Etsy shops located in North Georgia—all items are handmade and selected based on a Honeymoon – Wedding theme. Visitors to our booth will be encouraged to register themselves or a couple of their choice who will soon be, or has just been, hitched. It’s all part of a SHOUT OUT to Handmade Etsy Shops all across North Georgia. UPDATE TO THE ABOVE…
We are sad to announce we got word from the organizers behind the Chattanooga Summer Sunshine Heyday craft/artisan/vintage wonders event and it is OFFICIALLY CANCELLED.
However, we are still promoting our Handmade Wedding Gift Bag Registry locally in Ellijay, Georgia through the local Farmer’s Market each Saturday beginning on June 21st.
Look for more announcements regarding the travelling registry as it will appear all over the county in different shops throughout the summer. And then a drawing will be held on August 1st, 2014 announcing the happy couple winners!
