James Madison Athletics is pleased to announce the full promotional schedule for the 2017 football season, presented by CarMax. The Dukes will once again host six regular-season games this upcoming season at Bridgeforth Stadium/Zane Showker Field, including three against 2016 playoff teams.
 
Additionally, JMU announced its tentative game times for all six home games, which are subject to change for television purposes.
 
The promotional slate kicks off on Sept. 9 when the Dukes face ETSU at 6 p.m. in the home opener for Community Day. That game will highlight JMU's relationship with the Shenandoah Valley and features discounted tickets for local residents. It will also be Day with the Dukes, and JMU will have a national championship recognition prior to kickoff.
 
The following week, on Sept. 16, JMU welcomes Norfolk State to town for Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day and Band Day, with kickoff coming at 3:30 p.m. After the game, the Boy and Girl Scouts are invited to the Great Madison Campout, which features a movie on the video board and a camp out on Zane Showker Field.

The regular-season schedule also includes Family Weekend on Sept. 23 against Maine (1:30 p.m.), a home date on Oct. 14 against Villanova (3:30 p.m.), Homecoming on Oct. 28 versus New Hampshire (3:30 p.m.) and Heroes Day on Nov. 11 when JMU battles rival Richmond (3:30 p.m.).

In addition, three games have been specified as color-out games for JMU Nation. JMU's Oct. 14 contest against Villanova will be a White Out, the Oct. 28 game with UNH will be a Purple Out and the home finale on Nov. 11 versus Richmond is set to be a Black Out.

2017 FOOTBALL PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE
University Outpost Dog Walk – Greet the team and cheer on the Dukes as they make their way into the APC to prepare for game day! The Dukes will arrive at the Chandler bus stop and will walk a path through P-Lot and around Godwin Field. The Dog Walk will take place approximately 2 hours, 45 minutes before kickoff – listen for the JMU Drumline to let you know the Dukes are coming!   University Outpost Fan Zone - Stop by the University Outpost Fan Zone on Godwin Field before each home game to enjoy fun activities including a bounce house, football toss, skee ball, face painting, music, Puppy Pound pick-up, and more! Each game will feature a different special attraction. The Fan Zone opens 2 hours, 30 minutes before each game and closes 30 minutes prior to kickoff.   Aramark Food Race - Be on the lookout for the Aramark food race each game during the third quarter. Various food items will race across the field, vying for that first place spot. Whichever food item comes in first will be discounted at the Bridgeforth Stadium concession stands for the remainder of that game.
