Liverpool will be looking to improve massively ahead of the new and upcoming season.

With Ibrahima Konate having already agreed terms with the club, he will bolster the ranks at the Reds after injuries severely depleted Jurgen Klopp's backline for a large section of the season.

A third-place finish on the final day of the season means Liverpool qualified for the Champions League group stage next season but the Reds are hoping for another title challenge.

Michael Edwards will be a key man this summer as the club look to add strength to key areas with the defence already assured with the addition of the Frenchman, fans hope their attention will now switch to the midfield and forward positions.

With Euro 2020 underway, there could be bargain signings to be found with players taking part in the tournament.

We take a look at potential Liverpool additions to add reinforcements, including a possible replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.

Marcel Sabitzer

Position: Midfield
Nation: Austria
Market Value: £32m

Liverpool fans will remember Sabitzer for his untimely assist for Mohamed Salah's opener in the first knockout round of the Champions League in February.

However, his quality is not to be mistaken and with the goals having dried up somewhat from midfield for the Reds, the 27-year-old could provide the avenue from the middle of the park that they lacked last season.

His seven goals and five assists from midfield beat Jordan Henderson, albeit spending his time at centre-back and then sidelined through injury himself, Giorginio Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho collectively for goal contributions.

Likened to David Beckham, the Austrian could emulate England's golden boy but also draw comparisons to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Jordan Larsson

Position: Forward
Nation : Sweden
Market Value : £7m

Whilst all the talk emerging from the Sweden camp is on Alexander Isak, and rightly so, there is a potential for Liverpool to unearth talent.

Yes, the name is familiar, Larsson is the son of Celtic and Barcelona legend Henrik Larrson.

The forward has similarities to other Liverpool linked players such as Jonathan David and Darwin Nunez but the 23-year-old can provide the Reds with an injection of quality and creativity that they lacked in the crucial moments last season.

Deployed as a centre-forward or striker, he could pose an alternative threat to Roberto Firmino with the Spartak Moscow forward scoring 15 goals in 30 appearances from right-wing, centre-forward and striker with his tally predominantly coming from his spells as the striker.

Ryan Gravenberch

Position : Midfield
Nation : Holland
Market Value : £9m

No Wijnaldum? No problem. Liverpool could go for someone 11 years his junior in Ryan Gravenberch.

The highly-rated Ajax midfielder could be an addition that can do the job of the 30-year-old which saw him played as one of the deeper midfielders.

Gravenberch could perfectly fit the bill, although he may not contribute week-in, week-out with goals from midfield, his thunderous right-foot isn't one to be reckoned with if called upon.

But in terms of the Klopp system, the youngster is definitely one for the future but one that Liverpool could utilise even with his country in its infancy. He managed 16 minutes in Holland's 2-0 win against Austria as they secured qualification to the Euro 2020 knockout stages.

Josko Gvardiol

Position : Defender
Nation : Croatia
Market Value : £17m

The Croatian looks set to replace the outgoing Ibrahima Komate, who as we know is set to join Liverpool, at German club RB Leipzig.

He will join his new side in the aftermath of Euro 2020 but he could be one for the Reds to watch for the future with his mantle increasing as he arrives in the Bundesliga aged just 19.

Predominantly a left-back, he could also fill in at centre-back and another positive for Liverpool is that he has already emphasised his aspirations to sign for Liverpool, following in the footsteps of Konate.
